Democracy is Coolness Lab is an experiential residential learning programme by Act on Learning for high school students, teachers, and community partners. Held in Ivalo, Lapland, Finland, the programme invites participants to explore democratic decision-making, peace education, leadership, and active citizenship through embodied learning, creative practices, and collective inquiry. 

Grounded in transformational learning and affective pedagogies, the lab supports participants in developing practical tools to navigate complexity, engage with diverse perspectives, and respond to today’s social and environmental challenges. Through place-based learning, collaborative reflection, and hands-on exploration, Democracy is Coolness Lab creates space for meaningful learning, connection, and collective transformation.
