Welcome to WellSpaces
A note from the WellSpaces team
WellSpaces began before there was a platform, in conversations between organisations that were already doing the work — each in their own place, each carrying their own piece of the same question. At some point someone asked why we were not doing it together, and from there came everything else: the conversations, the structure, and the long search for a name that could say what this is without closing it off. That process asked for patience, for trust, and for the willingness to stay with uncertainty longer than is comfortable. The people who carried it through know what that cost, and what it made possible.
In mid-2025 the possibility became real. Months later, twenty-seven organisations from seventeen countries met for their first online convening, and the framework that had lived in documents began to live in conversation instead. What people brought with them — their experience, their questions, their commitment — now belongs to all of them.
You Are Welcome Here
This network is for the youth worker who has been doing this quietly for years without institutional support, and for the young person asking what would have to change where they live and looking for people who take that question seriously. It is for organisations trying to make wellbeing part of how they work rather than only of what they say, for informal groups that do not fit neatly into any category, and for researchers whose work belongs in practice. There is no single entry point, and belonging here is not earned by seniority or by size.
What holds the network together is an orientation more than a structure. We start from safety, belonging, hope and wise agency, and we treat them as conditions rather than as soft ideas that sit alongside the real work. Making that real, locally and beyond Europe, is worth doing together.
This Is a Beginning
We would rather say plainly that what you see here is an early trace of something still becoming. The programmes, the tools, the policy work and the stories are being built in real time by the people inside the network, which means there will be gaps, improvisation, and things that do not yet work. There will also be real encounters, genuine exchange, and the energy of people building something they believe in.
We are grateful to the organisations that held this through its formation, and to the European Union for co-funding that made the infrastructure possible.
If you have a story to share, whether you are already part of the network or are finding us now, we would like to hear what safety, belonging, hope and wise agency look like where you are. Your story can become part of the Narrative Hub. Write to us at hello@wellspaces.network, or visit Get involved.
The journey ahead is long, and we are glad to be walking it with you.
See you in the field.
